Dinosaurs
Hi My Name Is Gary Fox and I am here to talk about dinosaurs.Dinosaurs were very special reptiles. Some were size of chickens; Others may have been as jumbo jets. These creatures were the most successful animals that have ever lived on Earth. They dominated the world for nearly 150 million years and were found on every continent during the Mesozoic Era, which is divided into the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Like reptiles today, dinosaurs had scaly skin and their eggs had shells. The earliest dinosaurs ate meat, while later plant eating dinosaurs enjoyed the lush plant life around them. Dinosaurs are called "lizard-hipped" or "bird-hipped," depending on how their hip bones were arranged. They stood on either four legs or two and walked with straight legs tucked beneath their bodies. Dinosaurs are the only reptiles that have ever been able to do this.

This sounds like a very interesting book. Did you know that there were lots of dinosaurs in Alaska? Last summer I even saw some of their footprints in Denali National Park. I was in a class and we also met the scientist who first discovered them. They looked kind of like rock clods of dirt, but on some of them you could tell they were tracks. Ask me sometime and I'll show you the pictures.
